Ferdinand J. D'Antonio, a Beacon resident since 1973, formerly of the Bronx, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Monday, April 22, 2013. He was 85.
Son of the late Jeremia and Mary Diorio D'Antonio, he was born in the Bronx on December 7, 1927. In 1990, he retired from Grand Union Company, where he retired as the Meat Department Manager after 40 years of employment.
Ferdinand was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of St. Joachim Church in Beacon. He enjoyed playing Bingo and attending O.T.B.
On April 25, 1948 he married Yolanda Gennaro at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx. He was predeceased in death by his wife in 1985.
Survivors include his daughter, Marianne Policella & her husband Stephen of Beacon; his son, Michael D'Antonio & his wife Fran of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Stephen Anthony Policella, Lisa Marie Wohlmuth & her husband Bill, Danielle D'Antonio, Michael D'Antonio, Jr. and Kristy D'Antonio; his great-grandson, Liam Joseph Wohlmuth; his sister, Anna Rehor of Ocala, FL; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26 at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
