Obituary

Floyd Barron, 79, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1962 and formerly of Yonkers, New York, died on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Mineral Point, Missouri on May 25, 1931, he was the son of John Barron and Stella Crump Barron. He served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. A lifelong mechanic, Floyd owned and operated Floyd's Service Station in Fishkill Plains and then worked for Clove Excavators until his retirement in 2000. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On January 8, 1955 at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers, Floyd married Therese Kutka who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Suzanne Barron of Wappingers Falls and Christina McComish of Hopewell Junction; his beloved grandchildren, Nicole Barron of Wappingers Falls and Megan and Jeremy McComish of Hopewell Junction; his twin brother, Lloyd Barron and his wife Deets of Paducha, KY; his sisters, Lahoma Duvall and her husband Robert of Festus, MO and Lucille Barron of St. Louis, MO; his brother, Lynn Barron and his wife Ruth of Sainte Genevieve, MO; his dog and faithful companion, L'il Boy; and many nieces and nephews in Missouri, Michigan and Texas. He was predeceased by his twin brother and sister, Charles and Christine Barron, his sister, Florence Wilcox and his brother, Lester Crump.
Floyd enjoyed bowling, fishing and tinkering in his garage and was known to his grandchildren as "The Pa Who Could Fix Anything". He will surely be missed.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
