Obituary

Frances Iuele "Grandma Fran" a month shy of 99, entered eternal life on May 8th 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born at home in the Bronx New York on June 17th, 1927, she is the second daughter to Albert Mantovani and Gussie (Assunta) Guardino. Frances graduated with honors from Hunter High School and briefly attended Hunter College. She then worked as a teller for The Bank of Manhattan. Frances met the greatest love of her life, Vincent Iuele Sr., a WWII Veteran and NYC Police Officer. They were married in St. Theresa Parish in the Bronx on June 15th, 1947. They started a family in the Castle Hill area of the Bronx, and moved to Shrub Oak in 1964. They finally resided in Fishkill in 1987. Sadly Vincent Sr. passed away 7 months later.

Frances entered the workforce as a teacher's aide at BOCES Yorktown Campus for 16 years and was held in high esteem by her coworkers and the children she cared for. She was a devout Catholic and after retirement she attended daily mass and prayed the rosary everyday. She also babysat many children, including her very own grandchildren.

Growing up she loved sports and was very competitive in her neighborhood. She was an avid Yankee fan, never missing a game, and enjoyed and supported all her children and grandchildren's achievements and accomplishments. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking and also loved entertaining friends and family at home, and always had "gravy" and meatballs for anyone who walked through the door.

Frances is survived by her children Vincent Iuele Jr, Richard (Lizabeth) Iuele, Al (Linda) Iuele, her daughter Kathryn (Bernard) McNamee, and son Peter Iuele. She also raised two foster daughters, Theresa Pierce Derosa and Lori Pierce Folkes. Also, her grandchildren, A.J., Dyan, Lisa, Kerri (Brad), Tommy, Michael, Nicholas, Richard II (Jaime), Laina (Dan),Vincent III, Matthew and great grandchildren:Kameron, Joseph, Gianna, Marina, and the newest addition baby R.J. III, and her brother Andrew (Gail) Mantovani. She was an aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Vincent Sr. she is predeceased by her parents, her sister Phyllis and brother-in-law Nick Madonna, nephew William Madonna, and foster daughter Lori Pierce Folkes.

Visitation will be on Monday May 11th, and Tuesday May 12th, from 4pm-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Jct.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Mother of the Church Parish in Fishkill on Wednesday, May 13th at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
