Frances Mitchell, age 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2024. She was born on July 31, 1930 in Peekskill, NY to the late Frank and Margaret (Carey) Albanese. She was married for 71 years to her husband Joseph Mitchell, before he predeceased her in 2021.

Frances worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Verplanck Town Water Department. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and garden. She was a very devoted parishioner, first at St. Patrick's in Verplanck and then at St. Denis in Hopewell Junction.

Frances is survived by her 3 children: Linda Maddox and her husband Steve, Mark Mitchell and his wife Ellen, and Miriam Sciglio and her husband Vincent; her grandchildren: Kristopher Maddox, Francis Maddox, Anthony Maddox and his wife Rebecca, Melissa Nixon and her husband Brian, Sarah Westerdale and her husband Alden, Dominic Sciglio, and Alexander Sciglio; and her great-grandchildren: Audrey Nixon, Emery Maddox, and Nicholas Nixon.

In addition to her husband Joseph, Frances was predeceased by her brother Joseph Albanese.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 from 9-10:30 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY, followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Denis Church 602 Beekman Road Hopewell Junction, and then burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.
