POUGHKEEPSIE – Frances A. Morgan, 84, an area resident since 2022, died peacefully at home with her daughter, Karen and granddaughters, Catherine and Grace by her side on June 29, 2024. She previously lived in North Bellmore, Long Island.

Born in Long Island City, Queens, Frances was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Equale. She was employed as a secretary for the North Bellmore-North Merrick Union Free School District until her retirement. On April 24, 1965, Frances married the love of her life, James P. Morgan, "Mickey" who predeceased her on April 16, 2020 after 55 years of marriage.

Frances was a devoted Catholic who was a parishioner at St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed reading, the slot machines, gardening, watching cooking shows, listening to Neil Diamond and going to the beach, especially to Cape Cod. She showed her love for her family and friends by cooking meals for them. Frances will be remembered as a selfless woman who made others happy and lived her life for her family. Her granddaughters meant the world to her. She especially enjoyed spending the last few summers with them along the lazy river at Splashdown Beach.

Frances is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Morgan-D'Amelio and her cherished granddaughters, Catherine Anna and Grace Frances; her son, Michael Morgan; her brother, Joseph Equale and his wife Janet; her brother-in-law and siter-in-law, Jerry and Gerry Morgan; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and countless close friends.

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, July 5th at 10:45 am at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie.
