Francis A. McCabe, 75, a resident of Millsboro, DE since 2017 and previously of West Nyack, died peacefully on March 12, 2021 at home.
Born on January 23, 1946 in Brooklyn, Francis was the son of Francis J. and Bridget (Tuohy) McCabe.
Francis worked as a Certified Public Accountant in Congers. He was a bagpiper in the NY Gaelic Pipe Band in the Bronx, and was an avid reader who loved and cherished his wife and family, especially his grandchildren.
On June 7, 1969 in Brooklyn, Francis married the love of his life, Bridget Josie Gannon who survives him. In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by his children, Maggie Andriello and her husband Thomas of Hopewell Junction, Frank McCabe and his wife Jennifer of Danbury, CT, Sarah Thompson and her husband Timothy of Voluntown, CT; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Emma, Ethan, Avery, Gavin, Elliot, Wyatt, Lydia and Hayden; his brothers, Emmet McCabe and his wife Jane, Kevin McCabe and his wife Carol; and his sister in law, Colleen Duffy. In addition to his parents, Francis was predeceased by his brother, John McCabe.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a private interment at St. Denis Cemetery.
