Francis McPhillips, 89, of Wappingers Falls and formerly of the Bronx, Yorktown Heights, Mahopac and Vero Beach, FL, died on December 14, 2016 at Somers Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born in County Monaghan, Ireland on April 25, 1927, he was the son of Francis and Mary Anne Woods McPhillips. Francis had a life-time career with the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. He loved gardening and spent countless hours planting beautiful flowers. He was a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. In his younger days, he sang in many clubs and at weddings in New York City.

On July 25, 1953 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in New York City, Francis married Rose Gallagher who survives him. He is also survived by his daughters, Patricia Frost and husband Thomas, Geraldine Tamweber and fiancé Kevin Komisky, Annette Terzigni, and Colleen Llamas and husband Gonzalo; his sister, Mona Blake; his grandchildren, Thomas Jr. and his wife Rachel, Daniel, Nicole, Joseph, Brian, Frankie and his wife Mikhaila, Patrick and Ryan; and his great-grandson, Thomas III.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
