Obituary

GREENACRES, FL – Francis P. Rutigliano, a resident of Greenacres, FL and formerly of Hopewell Junction, passed away at his son's home in Gainesville, VA on Monday, July 26, 2021. He was 81.
Son of the late Pasquale and Josephine (De Rienzo) Rutigliano, he was born in the Bronx on October 29, 1939. In 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, KY. He was honorable discharged from active service in 1962.
Frank worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He then went on to work as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2002. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
On May 25, 1968, he married Alice P. Ragusa in the Bronx. Frank was predeceased by Alice on November 20, 2017.
Survivors include his son, Frank Rutigliano & his wife Kelly of Gainesville, VA; his sister, Rosalie Smith & her husband Gary of Island Park, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Frank was also predeceased by his son, Louis Rutigliano, in 2001 as well as his sister, Catherine Carpentieri, in 2017.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 30 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 31 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery with the U.S. Army conducting Military Honors.
