June 29, 1943 – June 15, 2025
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Frank P. Borquist, Jr., 81, a lifelong area resident, died on June 15, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Poughkeepsie on June 29, 1943, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Antoinette (Roberto) Borquist. After graduating from St Pat's High School, Newburgh and then Manhattan College, Frank enlisted in the US Navy in October 1965 and served in Vietnam. Following his active duty, Frank served in the US Naval Reserve and retired with the rank of Commander.
He owned and operated Janis Wholesale Flowers in Pleasant Valley until his retirement.
Frank was a parishioner at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church in Wappingers Falls. He married Mary Ann Finn in October 1980. He was a 50-year member of the New Hackensack Fire Company where he had served as Secretary and Treasurer. He volunteered for Puppies Behind Bars at Downstate Correctional Facility for a number of years.
Frank is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Finn, and nephew Robert Joseph Finn and nieces Shannan Finn Conway and Blythe Finn Epperson; his cousins, Thomas and Reign Whalen, and his children, Jennifer and John; and several Roberto Family cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 20th from 4 - 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st at 10 am at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Falls Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls followed by burial at St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
