Obituary

Frank Michael Cernuto, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1995 and formerly of Thornwood and the Bronx, died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Philip and Agnes (Calvi) Cernuto. On January 11, 1959 at St. Theresa's Church in the Bronx, he married Rose Girardi. His loving wife of 54 years survives at home.

Frank was a self employed upholsterer until his retirement. A skilled musician, Frank was a guitarist and vocalist in the band the "Godfathers" with his best friends. Frank was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his daughters, Diana Cernuto-Gentile of Mohegan Lake, Rosemary Vinci and her husband Joe of Hopewell Junction, Julie DiBlasio and her husband Nick of Stamford, CT, and June Cernuto-Carozza of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren, Lauren and Lisa Gentile, Anna and Caterina Vinci, Frankie and Anthony Carozza, and Theresa and Nicholas DiBlasio; and his sister, Terri Girardi.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12 pm at the funeral home followed by entombment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
