Frank Giorno's Obituary
Frank P. Giorno, 80, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1985 and formerly of Port Chester, died on Monday, February 28, 2011.
Born in Gusiti, Italy on May 4, 1930, he was the son of Sarafino and Maria Gioffre Giorno. He was employed in receiving and dispatch for Life Savers in Port Chester for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
On January 15, 1956 at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester, Frank married Maria Giorno who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Dolores DeVico of Hopewell Junction, Mary Lou Tedesco and her husband Frederick of Wappingers Falls, and Thomas Giorno and his wife Doreen of Wappingers Falls; his sisters, Eleanor Bruno and Flavia Flippo; his brothers, Luigi and Joseph Giorno; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Lorenzo Giorno, on October 26, 1983.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by entombment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Chester.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
