EAST FISHKILL - Frank J. Guarino, Sr., 88, an area resident since 1948, died on May 20, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brooklyn on November 7, 1936 (as he said, he was born at a very early age), he was the son of the late James and Carmela (DeLuca) Guarino. Frank proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He had been employed as a pressman for Western Publishing. He also worked in IBM as a temp and had a variety of jobs as a contractor. He worked for Royal Carting as a Night Security Guard and, most recently, as a Walmart greeter.
Frank was a member of the New Life Ministry in Fishkill and had formerly belonged to John 3:16 Christian Center and St. Columba Church. An avid fan of the New York Yankees, he also enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, watching reruns of old game shows, MASH, Matlock, Walker Texas Ranger and a variety of other old shows with John Wayne, as well as his woodworking.
On January 8, 1966, in Ridgewood, Frank married Joanne E. McCabe, who survives at home. He is also survived by his children Caprice Marie Guarino, Desiree Ann Guarino, Frank John Guarino II and wife Catherine, and Joseph William Guarino and fiancé Jennifer West; his grandchildren, Frank John III, Annadaliah Emma, Antonio Elijah, Brady Baum Jr. and girlfriend Veronica Faith Gebing, Damian Crossoficio, and Ryder Giovanni Krispin; and his great-grandson, Kacie Robert Baum. He was a beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews (too many to mention by name) and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Carmela (DeLuca) Guarino; his siblings, Capt. Joe Guarino and Annemarie Blackman; and his great-granddaughter, Daisy Marie Baum.
