FISHKILL – Frank Vincent Romagnani, 96, a veteran of World War II and area resident for more than 50 years, died peacefully at his home on November 29, 2021.
Born John J. Dunn on November 9, 1925, he was raised in Brooklyn by his adoptive parents Joseph and Maria Romagnani. Frank served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman, Hospital Apprentice First Class, in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1946. After the war, Frank returned home and on July 14, 1951, married the love of his life, Dolores Candela, who he met while they were both working at Macy's Herald Square in New York City and who predeceased him after 67 years of marriage on August 18, 2018. Frank, an IBM retiree, worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer in Fishkill for more than 25 years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
He is survived by his three children, his son David of Atlanta, GA and his daughters and their spouses, Deborah and Kevin Lund of Poughkeepsie, Diane and William Ginn of Chandler, AZ; his grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Stephanie Lund of Milford, CT, Matthew and Andrea Lund of Poughkeepsie, Michael and Kristin Lund of Poughkeepsie; his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lily, Aiden, and Payton; and his beloved caregiver and devoted friend, Earl Bellamy of Poughkeepsie.
