Frank S. Baker, Sr., 80, an area resident for 30 years and formerly of Valhalla, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 30, 1932, he was the son of Frank J. and Genevieve (Gajderowicz) Baker. On November 29, 1954 in Mount Vernon, he married Adeline Manocchi. Mrs. Baker survives at home.

Frank was employed as a Sergeant at the Westchester County Department of Corrections in Valhalla for 27 years until his retirement in 1991. He was also a volunteer fireman. Frank enjoyed gardening and mowing his lawn, but loved spending time with his family most of all.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Frank is survived by his children, Frank S. Baker, Jr. and his wife Laura of Hopewell Junction, Stephen Baker of Yonkers, Karen Mauro and her husband Mark of Wappingers Falls, and Marianne Baker and her fiancé Robert of Middletown his grandchildren, Gregory Baker and his wife Erin, Alison O'Loughlin and her husband Patrick, Jacqueline Baker, Mark Mauro, Nicole Mauro, and Jessica Mauro; and his great-grandchild, Royce Baker.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
