Frank L. Wilczek, an eight-year resident of Fishkill, formerly of Wappingers Falls and Yonkers, died at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh on Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was 48.
Son of the late Joseph and Iris (Pope) Wilczek, he was born in Yonkers on September 29, 1965. On September 21, 1996, he married Kimerly Hall at Trinity United Methodist Church in Wappingers Falls. Kimberly survives at home in Fishkill, along with their two children, Andrew and Kara.
For 17 years, he worked in in the parts department at Friendly Honda in Pleasant Valley. He held another job as well, working for Auto Zone in Poughkeepsie.
Frank had many hobbies, including his collection of comic books. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants Fan. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family, and loved going to the park with his kids every Sunday.
In addition to Kimberly, Andrew, and Kara, other survivors include his siblings, Helen Blanquera & her husband Ed of New Rochelle, Rick Wilczek & his wife Lynn of New Hampshire, and Donald Blakesley & his wife Evelyn of Massachusetts; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy Wilczek of Pennsylvania, Steven Macchia of Pennsylvania, Barbara Merritt of Hyde Park, Steven Hall of Michigan, and Keith Hall of Poughkeepsie; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Wilczek and sister, Debbie Macchia.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 on Friday, September 5 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m.
A college trust has been established for Frank's children. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Andrew & Kara Wilczek, c/o McHoul Funeral Home, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524.
