Fred A. Haines, 84, an area resident since 1969 and previously of Clark Summit, PA, died on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on July 14, 1931 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of Fred Haines and Marion Rosensteel Haines Decker. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Fred was a design engineer at IBM in East Fishkill for 25 years until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed spending his free time coaching East Fishkill Little League and was a long time Mets fan who enjoyed seeing his team make it to the World Series in 2015.
On August 4, 1956, Fred married Nancy Kuzma in Scranton, PA who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Rebecca Macrillo and her husband Philip of Fishkill, Frederick P. Haines and his wife Carolyn of Wappingers Falls, Judith Bartush and her husband Thomas of Fishkill, and Mark Haines and his wife Shiao-Ian of Ridgefield, CT; his grandchildren, Megan Spaccarelli and her husband Nicholas, Caitlin Macrillo, Marcus Macrillo, Samantha Macrillo, Kylie Haines, Leah Haines, Hannah Bartush, Charlotte Bartush, Emory Haines and Ainsley Haines; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Barrett and Betty Wells.
The services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill.
