Beacon – Fred Chitty, Jr., age 79, passed away on September 28, 2022 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital.
He was born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 19, 1943 to parents Fred Chitty, Sr. and Leanna (Benson) Chitty. On September 29, 1990, Fred married his love Greta Chin in the Bronx, NY.
He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1961 and Midland Technical College for certification in Phlebotomy.
Fred proudly served our country in the United States Army. Before his retirement, he worked at White Plains Hospital as a phlebotomist.
He was an avid sports fan of football and boxing. Fred's passion for sports cars and music, specifically Jazz and Latin music was undeniable. Also, his innate ability to cook all different types of cuisines which he shared with his loved ones and friends. He had a sweet tooth and his favorite indulgences were Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Babe Ruth Bars. Fred had dogs all of his life and he loved being outside in nature, specifically the beach.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife Greta Chin; his sons: Andre, Ante, Chaddrick Middleton, Fred Chitty III, Jason Chin Chitty, and Jereme Chin Chitty; his daughters: Turi Chitty, Tyra Chitty and Simone Chin Chitty; his sisters: Loraine, Lillian, Carolyn, and Marjorie Chitty, and Minnie Lee; his brother Leonard Chitty; his grandsons, and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Fred Chitty, Sr., his mother Leanna Benson Chitty, his sister Cynthia Chitty, and his daughter Adrian.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
