HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Fred Palmieri, a Hopewell Junction resident since 1991, formerly of Yonkers, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 61.
He was born in Yonkers on March 1, 1956. In 1978, he began working for MAGI as a programmer in Elmsford, NY. He retired in 2013 as Chief Technology Officer. Fred enjoyed many hobbies such as computers, music, cooking, and photography. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On October 9, 1982, he married Lydia Witiuk in Yonkers. Lydia survives at home.
Fred is also survived by two sons, Dante and Adam Palmieri; his mother, Margaret (Tyrrell) Palmieri of Brewster; two brothers, Bob Palmieri and Mark Palmieri, both of Amenia; his nephews, Robert and Max; and many other relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Anthony Palmieri, in 2011.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 3 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 4 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
