Frederick Charles Spuhler, 91, a resident of Fishkill since 1999, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at home. He previously lived in West Palm Beach, FL, Goulsboro, PA, and Farmingdale.
Born in Jamaica, Queens on May 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Frederick Charles and Marion (Kosby) Spuhler. He proudly served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during WW II and the Korean War. Fred retired in 1984 as Division Manager from NY Telephone Company in New York City after 31 years of service.
On May 8, 1954 at St. Kilian Church in Farmingdale, Fred married Mary Catherine Hannon Spuhler. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, at home; his sons and their wives, Rick and Beverly Spuhler of Oswego, Gregory and Carey Spuhler of Baldwin, Philip and Judy Spuhler of Macomb, MI, and Daniel and Laurel Spuhler of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, John and Maggie Spuhler, Mary Spuhler, Eric Spuhler, Elena and Christopher Carbone, Genevieve Spuhler, Brittany Spuhler, Karl Spuhler, and Rose Spuhler; and his great-grandchildren, Jack Spuhler, Owen Spuhler; and Natalie Carbone. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Marion Nicholson and Joan Corbitt.

Calling hours will be from 4 – 7 pm on Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Wednesday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill with military honors. Burial will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
