Frederick G. "Butch" Tuttle, an eleven year New Windsor resident, formerly of Glenham and Peekskill, entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, June 15, 2013 after a very valiant and courageous battle. He was 70.
Son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Dick) Tuttle, he was born in Peekskill on March 11, 1943. He was a retired Police Officer with the Peekskill Police Department, and had also worked for many years at Cortlandt Stone.
Beloved husband of Geraldine (Eich) Tuttle for 50 years, they were childhood sweet hearts since seventh grade at Drum Hill School in Peekskill. He was a cherished father to Theresa Tuttle Murphy of North Augusta, SC and Tammy Jo Tuttle Odell of Middlehope, and valued and admired by his sons-in-law Steve Murphy and Jerry Odell. Fred loved his granddaughters…they were the very center of his existence, Diana Mary & Kimberly Jo Del Basso. He also cherished his grandsons Brannon and Matthew Murphy.
Additional survivors include his sister, Patricia Burris & her husband Glen of Fishkill; his brother, Peter Vanca & his wife Sue of Zion, IL; and several nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
Fred was a past member of the Elks Lodge # 1493 Beacon, NY and Beacon Engine Fire Company. Fred spent his retirement days lovingly with Gerri in Florida as snow birds and loved Disney World with all of his heart.
