Gail F. Lawless, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, passed away on September 3, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 77. Gail was born on September 29, 1947 in Poughkeepsie to the late William and Marguerite (Glancey) Rush. On October 20, 1968, she married her loving husband, James Lawless, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Pleasant Valley, NY.

Gail graduated from the Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Castle Point VA Medical Center for many years. She founded the 4-H Barn Swallows, the first 4-H group in Dutchess County. She was a Den Mother for her son James's Cub Scout troop and also volunteered driving many people in the area to their various appointments.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband James Lawless, she is survived by her two children: Dorinda Czerwinsky and her husband Eugene of Liberty, NY and her son James Matthew Lawless and his wife Marilyn of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren Morgan Delaney, Dakota Czerwinsky, Karen, Michael, Ashley, Heather, Kyle and Caine; her great-granddaughter, Madilyn; and her sister Mary Bacon. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Mount.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 9, 2025 from 9-11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, with burial afterwards at St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
