Gail Carron McCormack passed away at home on January 30, 2026. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 12, 1939 to the late Lionel and Juliette (Benoit) Carron.
Gail graduated Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Rhode Island. She was a teacher at Groton Elementary School in Groton, NY. In later years, she worked at Blodgett Memorial Library in Fishkill. Gail was an avid reader who loved learning and accumulating knowledge. In her spare time, she loved to sew and knit, making baby blankets and clothes for church. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She loved to bake pies for her family and friends to enjoy. Gail also loved to garden.
Gail was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a strong faith in God and was a very kind and caring person, protective of all whom she loved.
She is survived by her children: Kathleen McCormack of Texas, Carol Travers and her husband John of Pennsylvania, John McCormack and his wife Jenny of New York, and Karen McCormack of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren: Alex, Jessica, Andres, Matthew, Mary Ellen, Laura, and David; her great-grandchildren Callum and Lillian; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gail was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur McCormack in 2021.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St. Fishkill, followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
