POUGHKEEPSIE – Gale Elizabeth Fondonella, 71, an area resident since 2019, died on January 10, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Mount Vernon.

Born on February 19, 1951 in Yonkers, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Aldyth (Bonney) Creighton. She was employed by Westchester County for over 23 years until her retirement in 2012.

Gale loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed planting, gardening, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Janine Rosner and her husband Erik of West Nyack; her sons, Daniel Fondonella and his wife Julie of Hopewell Junction, Brian Fondonella and his wife Timea Keseru of Cheyenne, WY, and Marcus Thorpe of Peak District, England; her grandchildren, Luke, Evan, and Kayla Rosner and Preston, Cole, and Grace Fondonella; her cousins, Shelly Esposito, Kathy Pfister, and Bruce Williams; and her two cats who she adored.

In addition to her parents, Gale was also predeceased by her siblings, Ginger Creighton, Gregory Creighton, and Gary Creighton.

A private celebration of her life will be planned at a later date. Donations may be made in Gale's memory to the American Cancer Society.
