Gary C. Boyer, 67, a resident of Duchess County since 1977, died on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a long illness.
Born on December 15, 1943 in Binghamton, he was the son of Roy and Bertha White Boyer. He served in the US Air Force and was employed as an Investigator in the Violent Felony Warrant Squad with the New York State Police in Albany for 31 years until his retirement in 1999. Gary was a member of the Retired Troopers Association and the American Legion in Broadalbin. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as fishing, hunting and traveling.
Gary is survived by Marianne Bartusiak, whom he married on May 14, 1977 in Fishkill. He is also survived by his children, Jana Marie Hughes and her husband Bronc of Lodi, CA, Diana Marie Boyer of Pleasant Valley and Daniel Boyer of Hopewell Junction and his grandchildren, Aaliyah Marie Boyer and Quintin Tarantino.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
