George W. Grabuskie, 89, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie for 10 years and formerly of Stratford, NJ, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his daughter's home.
Born in Gilberton, PA on December 27, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Schlack Grabuskie. George proudly served our country in the US Army and had been employed as an electronic technician with RCA in Camden, NJ for more than 25 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie where he served as an usher, and was a member of the American Legion, Arlington Post 1302.
On July 17, 1949 in Shenandoah, PA, George married Dorothy Staskel who predeceased him onJune 26, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Deede and her husband Rich of Stormville; his grandsons, Nicholas and Steven Deede; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie. Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah, PA.
