George Louis Haddock died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 following a courageous battle with stomach cancer. He was 52.
He was born on December 25, 1962 in the Bronx, where he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Lorraine (Cook) and John Walls, both of whom predeceased him in death along with his aunt, Katherine Morrison.
On August 18, 1999, he married Diana Fontanez in the Bronx. Following their marriage, they lived in Mount Vernon for many years until moving to Beacon eight years ago.
George was an air gun enthusiast. His zest for the sport inspired him to establish the Beacon Air Gunners Air Rifle Club. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. His other hobbies included cooking, gardening, as well as collecting souvenir spoons and pins. George also enjoyed art, especially drawing and graffiti.
He worked as a truck driver and operator for many companies until 2011, when he retired due to his illness.
He is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Diana, at home in Beacon and his beloved "Aunt Ray", Frances Cook. He is also survived by his father and stepmother, George and Linda Haddock; his children and stepchildren, Jason Haddock (Nilsa), Michael Haddock (Paola), Jenene Haddock, Christina Haddock, Nelson Gautier, Jr. (Damaris), and Victor Gautier (Daniella); his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Stormy, Rowan, Isabella, Adien, Sorene, Anthony "L.V.", Maya, Mia, Daisy, and Nelson III; his siblings, Henry Kiernan, Raymond Walls, Lorrie Maupin, Connie Walls, and Robert Walls, Linda Haddock, Robert Haddock, Yvonne Haddock, & Theresa Haddock; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 12th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Prayers will be offered at 5 p.m.
