CLINTON CORNERS – George Hew, Jr., 43, a resident of Clinton Corners, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, September 8, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Peekskill on February 15, 1970, he was the son of Irene Daddario and her husband Donald of New Paltz and George Hew, Sr. of Poughkeepsie.
George graduated from Arlington High School in LaGrangeville in 1989. He was the owner and sole proprietor of GH Plumbing and Heating, Inc. in Clinton Corners. A dedicated and hard worker, he loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his motorcycles and was a gun enthusiast. George loved spending time at family gatherings and with his many friends.
George was engaged to Karen Damico, who also passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening. This tragic accident has taken two special family members from us, and our grief is overwhelming. He loved adventure, and he and Karen were inseparable doing things they loved. He was a very generous and kind person, always putting others before himself, doing what he could for them.
In addition to his parents, George is survived by his loving brother, Stephen Hew and his wife Dawn of Millbrook; his loving sister, Holly Tauber and her husband Kenneth of New Hampton; and his nieces Juliana Hew and Emma Tauber and his nephew, Cody Hew, all of whom he adored. George is also survived by Karen's children, Michael and Christopher Damico and Amanda McKiverkin and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom he loved dearly and always cherished family times together.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home.
