Obituary

George Behler Hyatt II, 75, a lifelong area resident, died on December 24, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Born July 5, 1942 in Newburgh, George was the son of George B. and Catherine (Bell) Hyatt.

George was a self employed Real Estate Broker. Some of his final projects were Woodwinds and Country Mill Estates in Wingdale. He was a gourmet chef and loved 50s and 60s music. He was an Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America in Pearl River and a member of the Breakfast Club at Robos where he enjoyed doing his daily Jumble puzzles with his friends. He was also a scholar at trivial knowledge and enjoyed classic cars. George enjoyed sitting on the back porch and watching the wildlife. He loved all animals but especially his cats as each had their own personalities. He enjoyed being part of all conversations as he was able to interject his opinions in all types of conversations. He was a very caring person and will be missed immensely by all who knew him and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Rumsey; and his sister, Catherine Sallwey and her husband, Alex of Annandale, VA.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 8pm.
