BEEKMAN - George J. Kennedy, 78, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully on May 10, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Poughkeepsie on August 9, 1943, he was the son of the late William and Josephine (Miller) Kennedy. He was also predeceased by his brother, William Kennedy Jr.

George proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a Teamster with Local #445 with Montfort Brothers in Fishkill for many years.

George was a life member of the Beekman Fire Company. He was a Past Chief of the fire district, as well as a Commissioner. He belonged to numerous firematic organizations including FASNY and NYSAFC. George was also a member of the American Legion in Pawling.

He is survived by many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 23 from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 24 at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in the Clove Cemetery.
