Obituary

George D. Kott, 73, a resident of Pleasant Valley for 14+ years and formerly of Greenlawn, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Port Washington on July 27, 1941, he was the son of George "Tim" and Lottie Click Kott. George proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver for Commander Oil in Oyster Bay for 30+ years until his retirement in 1996. In his earlier years, he enjoyed restoring Mustang cars and liked midget car racing. George loved working around his home and yard and had that special knack of fixing anything with his unique ideas. He loved cooking, and he enjoyed going to Saratoga Racecourse. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On June 12, 1968 in Huntington, George married Susanne Fedorka who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Andria M. Kott of Pleasant Valley; his son and daughter-in-law, George G. and Christine Kott of Farmingdale; his grandsons, Dean and Mason Kott; his sister, Eileen Mozer of Huntington Station; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
