George P. Lanza, 35, a resident of Poughkeepsie for seven years and formerly of Brewster, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in New Rochelle on March 17, 1977, he was the son of Patricia Laurich Schiavone of Poughkeepsie and the late George Lanza. George enjoyed fishing, skiing, bowling, music, the beach, amusement parks, fireworks, and holidays with his family. He loved life and people, especially helping people in any way that he could.

In addition to his mother, George is survived by his sisters, Denise Lanza of Wingdale and Dawn Schiavone of LaGrange; his brother, Joseph Schiavone of WI; and his niece and nephews, Dawn Marie, Jonathan, Joseph, Anthony and Brandon. He was predeceased by his brother, Vito Schiavone.
