George A. Murray, 73, a resident of Union Vale for 40 years and formerly of Connecticut, died on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Middlebury, VT on July 19, 1941, he was the son of Alfred and Vena Holbrook Murray. George was employed for many years as a farmer with Ryancrest Farm in LaGrangeville. He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

On January 26, 1963 in Pawling, George married Shirley LeMere who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Anita West and her fiancé Keith Albano of Poughkeepsie, Paul Murray of IN, Lori DeRosa and her husband Michael of Poughquag, Shane Murray and his wife Regina of Poughkeepsie, Anne Squeglia and her husband Vincent of Pleasant Valley; his grandchildren, Candice West, Cortney West, Caitlyn West, Jennifer Murray, Alexandra Mellor, Shannon DeRosa, Harlie DeRosa, Nicholas Murray, Brayden Murray, Christian Murray, Alyssa Murray, and Tori Squeglia; his great-granddaughter, Isabella Rafter; his siblings, Harriet Dawson, Robert Murray, Francis Murray and Roger Murray; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
