George Passiotti, a local area resident for 15 years, formerly of Yorktown Heights and Yonkers, died at home on Wednesday, November 16. He was 74.
Born in Yonkers on January 14, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude Ferrucci Passiotti. For over 40 years, George worked as a member of the U.A.W. for General Motors in North Tarrytown, where he held several positions until his retirement.
He was a member of The Oasis church in Beacon and formerly of the John 3:16 Christian Center, where he served as Deacon. George was very active in Christian service and was generously supportive of many charitable organizations, especially those that benefited veterans or children. He was also an avid fisherman.
In 1954, he married Isabel Avezzano in Yonkers. Mrs. Passiotti predeceased him in 1999.
George is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Passiotti of Wappingers Falls and Debbie Muschio & her husband Henry of Pawling; two granddaughters, Nicole & Camille Muschio; two brothers, John Passiotti & his wife Jennie of Stamford, CT and Joseph Passiotti & his wife Bronda of Trevose, PA; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, George was also predeceased by his daughter Donna Marie Passiotti in 2006.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday November 21 at The Oasis, 7 Delavan Avenue, Beacon. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the church with Senior Pastor Mark Aarstad officiating. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
