BEACON – George Kurt Rihm, 65, an area resident for 23 years and formerly of Ridgewood, Queens, died on December 22, 2020 at his home.

Born in Queens on July 10, 1955, he was the son of Eugene and Wilma Rihm. George was employed as a track worker specialist for the MTA in the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan Area for 25 years until his retirement in 2017.

On May 20, 1988 in Ridgewood, George married Margaret Bass who survives at home. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Dawn and husband Michael Kovacs. He was predeceased by his stepson Jimi Bass in 2019. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Heather Anne Shay, Katie Bass, Michael, and Danielle Kovacs; his brother James Rihm, wife Susan Rihm and brother Otmar Rihm; his niece Jennifer and her three children, and his nephew James; along with many great nieces and nephews. He was also loved by his many relatives in Germany.
