FISHKILL – George J. Seminara, 67, a resident of Fishkill for 40 years, died peacefully at home on December 13, 2020 surrounded by his family. He previously lived in Queens.
Born in Queens on November 29, 1953, George was the son of the late Joseph J. and Georgia (Michels) Seminara. In 2017, he retired as an operator at Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan where he worked for over 37 years.
On November 6, 1976 at St. Kevin’s Church in Flushing, Queens, George married Patricia (Gorman) Seminara. His wife of 44 years survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Joseph Seminara and his wife Brianne of Beacon, Jamie Belz and her husband Jeffrey of Bridgewater, MA, and Robert Seminara of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Shannon Seminara, and Emerson, Brooklyn, and Lincoln Belz; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Hughes and her husband John and Maureen Halleran; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
George will be remembered as an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. As a history buff, he loved stories about WWI and WWII, and also enjoyed collecting antiques and going to flea markets.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required.
