George M. Sotiro, Jr., 60, a long-time area resident, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his home.
Born on December 13, 1949 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late George M. and Kathleen Meegan Sotiro. He served in the US Marine Corps and was currently employed as a truck driver for BTM in Poughkeepsie for the last 18 years.
George is survived by his lifelong companion, Sandy McAllister; his sisters, Carol Brady of Carmel and Kathleen Scionti of Georgia; his brothers, Michael Sotiro of South Carolina and Douglas Sotiro of Meredith; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment in LaGrange Rural Cemetery with military honors.
