Georgia M. Boscia, a Dutchess County resident since 1968, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 86.
Daughter of the late Rinaldo and Jenny (Zurla) Giannecchini, she was born in the Bronx on May 31, 1928. She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and for many years was active with the Fishkill Senior Center, where she volunteered with the Bingo program. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and being in the company of family and friends.
On February 10, 1951, she married Pasquale Boscia at St. Dominic's Church in the Bronx. Mr. Boscia survives at home in Fishkill.
Georgia is also survived by her daughter, Barbara Boscia of Biddeford Pool, ME; her son, Robert Boscia & his wife Mary of Union Vale; her grandchildren, Colleen Waybrett & her husband Aaron of Peabody, MA, Brendan Fogarty of Gloucester, MA, Michelle Boscia of Walden, and Robert Boscia of Carmel; her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Noah, and Daniella; and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Schinella.
There are no calling hours. A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 29 at the Community Mausoleum of Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
