FISHKILL – Gerald Braun, 62, an area resident for over 22 years, died on March 24, 2021 with his beloved wife at his side. He had previously resided in Tuckahoe.

Born in Manhattan on February 6, 1959, Gerald was the son of the late Joseph Braun. Gerald was an accomplished carpenter who also enjoyed deep sea fishing which took him to destinations like the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Carolinas. He loved growing vegetables in his home garden, and shared the harvest with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a comedian at heart and loved to make people laugh. Most of all, he loved his family and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Granados) Braun; his daughters, Rachel Braun of Poughkeepsie and Nicole Braun of Fishkill; his brothers, Robert Braun of Yonkers and Armin Braun and his wife Dawn of Beekman; his niece, Kristy Voyers and her husband Eric; and his great-niece, Emma.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11 am – 12 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12pm followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required. Since capacity may be limited, all attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
