WAPPINGERS FALLS – Gerald "Jerry" Lee Lynn, 79, an area resident for 40 years, passed away on September 18, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Aliquippa, PA on July 15, 1936, he was the son of the late Doyle and Olive (Oaks) Lynn. He proudly served our country in the US Army from 1955-1961. On August 3, 1963 in Aliquippa, he married Sally Winkle Lynn who survives at home.
Jerry was the CEO of Gerald L. Lynn Land Surveyor PC in Wappingers Falls which he opened in 1987. He had retired in 1988 as Senior Engineer for AT & T in White Plains where he worked for over 35 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Jerry especially liked snowmobiling, boating, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family at their homes in Lake Temagami, Ontario, Canada, and Old Forge, NY.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Jerry is survived by his children and their spouses, Lorry and Luke McCarthy of Ancram and Larry and Maureen Lynn; his grandchildren, Ryan and Kendal Lynn; his brothers and their spouses, Jack and Sarah Lynn, Willis and Dency Lynn, and Theodore and Jocelyn Lynn; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. He was also predeceased by his brother, Doyle Lynn.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 3-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will follow at 6pm with military honors.
