WAPPINGERS FALLS – Geraldine F. Ellershaw, 68, an area resident for 30 years, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She previously lived in East Bridgewater, MA.

Born in Braintree, MA on October 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Abban) Lydon. Geraldine had been employed as a Real Estate Broker for Rand Manning Real Estate, where she worked for over 33 years. She was also a health aide for Premier Home Health Care.

A parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie, Geraldine enjoyed bowling, reading, and listening to country music. She will always be remembered as a Boston sports team nut.

Geraldine is survived by her son with whom she lived, Joseph W. Ellershaw; her friend, Peter R. Allen of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 6 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by the funeral service at 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Foundation , Inc. or Dutchess County SPCA.
