Gerard Vincent Capogna "Jerry" passed away at home on August 12th, 2023.

Jerry was born in Yonkers, NY to Geraldine Capogna and Dominic Capogna Sr. He was a beloved son, and sibling. To his brother's, John Capogna and Dominic Capogna Jr, he was the best older brother. They will cherish the memories together always.

A graduate of John Jay High School , He was involved in many sports including Baseball, Basketball and Football. There he made the best friendships that lasted up until his last days. He loved his friends dearly.

He met Kristen Capogna, his friend and mother to their 3 children. Lindsay (Capogna-Baxter), Vincent Capogna, and Samuel Capogna. They lived in Hyde Park where their family made wonderful memories together.

Lindsay went on to marry Michael Baxter, and Vincent to marry Jonina (Kellerhouse) Capogna. He cherished his son and daughter in law.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Zoey Baxter, Michael Baxter, Elyana Capogna, Sofia Capogna, and Attilio Capogna. There was no greater joy than watching his Grandchildren in all they did. They loved their "Poppy" and will miss him tremendously.

Jerry worked for IBM of Fishkill, and went on to retire from Metro North Railroad. There he met some of his closest friends whom he made great memories with.

He also loved to golf with his two sons and friends, and attend all of his kids and grandkids sporting events and activities. An avid die hard Yankee fan, He especially loved baseball. He was able to watch his grandson Mikey play his first year of baseball, and watch his son Sam's softball team "The Wrecking Crew" who all held such a special place in his heart.

The loss of Jerry will be immense. He was loved by anyone who met him, and was the brightest light to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY. A funeral service will be at 6:30.
