WAPPINGERS FALLS – Gerard J. Docherty, 70, died on August 27, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx on November 15, 1946, Gerard was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Donovan) Docherty, Sr. He had been employed by the A & P in New Jersey before moving to Dutchess County 10 years ago.
Gerard is survived by his siblings, James Docherty and his wife Kathleen of FL, Jean Seitter of Bogota, NJ, Virginia Hurley of MA, Thomas Docherty, Jr. and his wife Florence of Wappingers Falls, Richard Docherty of Fishkill, Mary Fenton and her husband John of Wappingers Falls, and Vincent Docherty of MA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Martin Docherty and Joseph Docherty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
