Gerolomo S. "Jerry" Vitucci, 82, a resident of Stormville for 20 years and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.
Born in the Bronx on December 20, 1931, Jerry was the son of Nicola and Elizabeth Vacca Vitucci. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean War and was employed as a building inspector for the City of New York. Jerry was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and was a member of the American Legion. Jerry raised pigeons and was involved with several Pigeon Clubs in the Hudson Valley.
On April 24, 1954 at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, Jerry married Joy Howarth who predeceased him on April 20, 2010. He is survived by his children: Liz Conti, her husband Joe and their children Nicole Harris and her husband Cory Harris and Joey and his fiancé Aileen Lanni, Nick Vitucci and his children, Danielle, Nicholas, Louis and Nicolette, Valerie Marcin, her husband Christopher, their children Jaclyn, Ashley, Christopher and Cailey, and their grandson Jeremiah; his sisters, Dorothy Gadinsky and Diana Davis and her husband Jerry; his sister-in-law, Betty Marcoux; his brother-in-law, Wayne Howarth; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-10:30am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
