Gloria Langan, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 83.
Daughter of the late Jesse and Rose (Manganello) Lobato, she was born in White Plains on January 3, 1932.
For many years, she worked as a computer operator for Union Carbide in Tarrytown. In 1997, she relocated to North Myrtle Beach, SC, where she made many new friends and acquaintances and volunteered at the local American Legion hall. In 2008, she returned to Dutchess County to live with her family.
Gloria loved to dance and enjoyed learning many different styles, including ballroom dancing, square dancing, and the Carolina shag. More than anything else, she cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise VanDuyne of Wappingers Falls; her grandsons, Thomas VanDuyne, Michael VanDuyne, and Christopher VanDuyne & his wife Nicole; and her great-granddaughter, Kayla.
Gloria was predeceased by her step-brother, Robert Lettieri; and her step-sisters, Rose Lettieri and Jean Spring.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m., immediately following the calling hours.
