STAATSBURG – Gloria Malinowski, 92, a resident of Staatsburg for 15 years, passed away on November 29, 2023, at Northern Dutchess Hospital. She previously lived in Hopewell Junction.

In June 1953 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Brooklyn, NY she married the love of her life John E. Malinowski.

Gloria was born on April 5, 1931, in Brooklyn. Gloria was employed for many years at the Grand Union in Hopewell Junction. She was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner at St. Columba Church where she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by them all.

Gloria is survived by her children, Barbara Delahanty and her husband Michael of Stanfordville, Thomas Malinowski of Indianapolis, IN, and Gloria Price of Austin, TX; her beloved granddaughter with whom she had a special relationship with Amy Capra and her husband Nick; her granddaughters, Sophia Maria, and Jackie Ann Capra; and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband, John E. Malinowski in 1965; her son, John Malinowski in 1979; her mother, Bertha (Hudson) Spinelli; her stepfather, Joseph Spinelli; her father, Thomas Dempsey; and her siblings, Thomas Dempsey, Joseph Spinelli, and Ann Ohlson.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at Long Island National Cemetery.
