Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Gloria Marie Mazzacone, 76, died on September 4, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on October 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Edge) Cunningham.

On July 9, 1966 in Beacon, she married her best friend, John Paul Mazzacone, who survives at home after 59 years of marriage. Gloria is also survived by her children, Valerie Campbell and her husband Richard of Montgomery, Christina Plambeck and her husband Barry of Hyde Park, and Jason Mazzacone, her grandchildren, Jonathon, Justin and his wife Jacquelyn, Zachary and his fiancée Natalie, and Liam and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was looking forward to meeting her new great-grandson this November. She also leaves behind many others whom she lovingly embraced as her own grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Alisha; and her siblings, William Cunningham, Samuel Cunningham, Doreen Kishbaugh, and Valerie Jean Cunningham.

Gloria especially cherished game nights, where she reigned as the master of Uno, poker, and flinch. The memories of countless evenings spent at the table, filled with laughter, stories, and friendly competition, will forever be treasured by her children and grandchildren.

She also loved the thrill of casinos and games of chance, but more than the cards and the chips, it was the fun and joy of play that she treasured most. To her, life itself was a game best enjoyed surrounded by loved ones.

Gloria touched the lives of everyone she met, radiating kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Her greatest joy in life was her family, who were truly the center of her world. She loved unconditionally and gave of herself freely, ensuring that her home was always filled with warmth, fun, and togetherness.

Her love, laughter, and passion for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for the immeasurable love she gave and the joy she brought to everyone but for her incredible strength and infectious smile and laughter.
