Grace Anderson Brooks, 90, a resident of the Town of East Fishkill since 1981, formerly of Morristown, NJ, died at New York Methodist Hospital on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Born in Pendelton, VA on September 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William and Armatine Tyree Anderson. In 2004, Grace retired from Gayhead Elementary School in Hopewell Junction, where she had been a cafeteria worker since moving to Dutchess County. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and entertaining. She is survived by two sisters, Wilhelmina Pinner of Brooklyn and Edna Hackney of Virginia; a brother, James Anderson of Virginia; her devoted companion, Clifford Ambrose of Hopewell Junction; and a host of many loving relatives and friends. Calling hours are from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. immediately following visitation at the funeral home, followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
