Beacon - Gregory E. Cotter, 42, a longtime resident of Beacon, died on May 31, 2011 in Beacon.

Born on February 26, 1969, he was the son of Gerard Cotter and Esther Breedveld Cotter.
He resided in the South Shore of Mass. until the age of 19. He settled down in Beacon, NY where he lived with his wife and daughter. He graduated from the Northeast Broadcasting School in 1994 and worked as a contractor later owning his own business specializing in professional painting.

On August 18, 2004 in Ocean City, MD, he married the only woman he ever loved, Nancy L. Phillips Cotter, who survives at home. They shared 19 loving, wonderful years together. He was predeceased by his mother Esther Cotter and brother Gerard Cotter.
He is also survived by his daughter, Samantha Daniel; grandson, Izaiah Gaither; brothers, Joseph Minichiello and Thomas Cotter; sisters, Angela Minichiello, Jane Sinclair, Carolyn Schaupp, Angela Palmer, Elisa and Leah Hirsh-Cotter; and many other family members and close friends.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He was passionate about music, exercising, and playing his guitar. His sense of humor always made you laugh uncontrollably and will never be forgotten. Greg was the guy who was always willing to help anyone in need and was a loving father and cherished each moment with his grandson, who he called "Beanbag".
