Obituary

Gregory Edward Walz, 55, a lifelong area resident, died suddenly on February 15, 2025 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Born in Peekskill on October 15, 1969, he was the son of Frances (Kaps) Walz and the late Carl Walz. Gregory served as a Detective for many years with the Pound Ridge Police Department, and was recently promoted to Sergeant. He has previously worked as a paramedic with Westchester EMS and the Greenburgh Police Department.

Gregory always had something unique planned on the horizon. His adventures included riding his motorcycle, traveling the world with his wife, camping with his family, golfing or just relaxing with his cigar and attending to his Bees. He was always ready to go!

On November 9, 2002 in Shrub Oak, Gregory married the love of his life, Lisa Perazzo, who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by his brother, Christopher Walz, his wife Andrea and their eight children; his sisters-in-law, Christen Anz and her husband Isaac, and Heather Caporaso and her husband Matthew; his cousins, Tara Hrouda and Jennifer Hrouda; and his faithful companions, Keiko and Sophie.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service and police honors at 6pm.
