Obituary

Guerino "Gerry" DiLoreto, Jr., 77, a 40 year resident of Dutchess County and formerly of Ossining, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
Born in Ossining on January 20, 1934, he was the son of Guerino and Anna Batista DiLoreto. Gerry was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University. He was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections at Downstate Correctional Facility until his retirement in 1993 after many years of service. During the 1980s, he owned Munch-a-Bunch, a candy kiosk in the South Hills Mall. From 1994 to 1995, he owned Rhinebeck Bagels. He had also owned and operated a deli in Ossining and a crystal shop in Fishkill and served on the Village of Fishkill Zoning Board.
Gerry is survived by his daughter, Ginger Creiger of Hopewell Junction; his grandsons, Robert D. Creiger, Jr. and Blaise M. Creiger; his brothers, Anthony DiLoreto of Pompano Beach, FL, Louis DiLoreto and his wife Peggy of Ossining and Edward DiLoreto and his wife Jane of Emerald Isle, NC; and his sister, Agatha "Gig" Griffen of Croton-on-Hudson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10am to 12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 12pm at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Native American Boys Club or St. Bonaventure University.
